United's Tribute- 6 Feb. 2008

Everything today I thought was done with class. Even the website looks wonderful. United did a lot of work to do this right, and I believe it was spot on. Even having MUTV for free, the Munich Tunnel exhibition, everything. Just wanted to say well done.

Harry Gregg was class, as was Nobby, tears and laughter at the same time.

Perfectly summed up,Robert.I was on the forecourt this afternoon and when the names were being called out of those who died,a lot of tears trickled down cheeks.
It was very sad but at the same time wonderful to think that after all these years the Babes are still deep in our hearts.

I got home in time to see Harry Gregg,Nobby and Bobby sharing their memories.Just wonderful.
A sad day but also a great day.

They are repeating most of the earlier programs, along with the memorial service for all those who missed it, manutd.com has the schedule.

Been watching, the tribute all day ( free on line) and have to say what a great job United have done, the many speakers who graced the ceremony and all those behind the scene, special thanks for providing this for us.

I've planned to watch all the Munich tributes and recorded all (expect 1 or 2 things) MUTV's tribute while i was at school. I like the website, it looks great. I've got the wallpaper.

We had gone to the visit the gravesites of Geoff Bent and Eddie Colman. When we arrived at Geoff's grave there was two men there laying flowers, one of the men told us he had worked with Geoff Bent and that he was at work with him the day before the tragedy. He was quite interesting to talk to. We finally made our way over to Old Trafford where we met up with Kim, Leanne, Ash, Dante, Mike, Dan and Trystan. Dan was fortunate to have tickets for the memorial and he went inside while we were at the forecourt. It was very emotional as the names were being called out and of course during the minutes silence. The flowers of Manchester was sang by quite a few fans before the memorial service and then again after the minute of silence. Kim and Leanne had brought flowers and we had siti's poster and a card that we all signed, we were able to get up close to lay the flowers down and got quite a few pictures which we will be posting on the website. There was a City flag and a couple of City scarves had been among all the flowers and united scarves. The crowd gave a cheer as a City fan came up to lay a City scarf down. One of the City scarves had all the 23 names and read in part "True Blue fans remember "...which was in my opinion a classy gesture. The tribute in Munich tunnel was nicely done and all in all it was a lovely tribute.

It really was a memorable afternoon. Very emotional but I felt better having a group of us there so we could all be there for each other, especially during the minute's silence even though I cried (I'm a girl and that's my excuse!).

I've popped some photos in a thread in the United conference if anyone is interested to take a peek.

I thought everything was done superbly today. Listening to Nobby, Harry Gregg and Sir Bobby was just phenomenal. The Munich Tunnel looked beautiful as well. I have to say well done to United...

Full marks to Skynews Australia - I stayed up until 2am hoping they would go live to Old Trafford - that's the time when it switches over to SkyUK - they only showed upto the silence and the start of the singing of "The Lord is my Shepherd" then it went back to the studio and the announcer was saying "If you push your red button" Next thing Sky Australia overrode it and we went back live
