of a team that we justly had cause to call great.
A long time may lapse err we see such a team
for busby just skimmed all the top of the cream.
In england and europe yes world football too
these youngsters knew what precisely to do.
No bragging or boasting just on with the game
the best and the rest will remember their name.
Remember them well and honour them too
reflect on the glory they brought home to you.
Byrne Jones Colman Taylor Pegg Whelan Edwards and Bent
how could they all know their lives had been spent
Crickmer Curry and Whalley the gent.
Who would work day and night on defeat to prevent
can you forget them? Well brother just try
and then brush away the tear from your eye
the good lord above must have made a decree
i need you in heaven for eternity.
And somewhere above they watch as they say
United we were and United we stay.
no matter for now what the future may hold
your exploits are legion United the bold.
The world shall remember as each one of us
do
the greatest team ever the team that was
you.
And someday perhaps on the old trafford ground
if we listen with care we may hear a strange sound.
As from up in the clouds with pride you look down
and see the new babes wearing your own triple crown.

I actually had to brush off a tear as i read that poem and others ........

RIP Babes

i agree wazza. That was what i was thinking too. I'm sitting here at work with tears fighting to roll of my eyes after reading all the tributes and am wondering what the older fans who saw them play or grew up during that time must be feeling right now.

It was a tragic accident. It must be harder for older fans but I think even though they're gone, they will never be forgotten and I like others had to wipe away tears from my eyes when I read poems and tributes. R.I.P

Gone but always remembered, the lost ones shaped our club into what it is today. At work but been watching the tribute all day on MUTV(on line) amazing and very touching to hear the many accounts from everyone speaking. Real insight into those times and the tragedy.

Well, as usual this is trhe time of year and on this day without fail I have lit candles in memory of the Busby Babes. But even thou I was not in existince at that time it is part of this tradedy is part of the history of our great club. The pain that was suffered at the aftermatch of the crash must have been colossal, But this year is the 50th aniversery and it is really emotional time for me- I'm not really a a person that likes to show tears, but this day and time makes it hard not to shed any tears.

Every year without fail I shall always light a candle and I will do this for as long as I live. In life we end with death, but death so tragic and so untimely is beyond the treshold of pain. Whoi know had if we had the medical technology that we have today 50 years ago Ducan Edwards might have survived, The flowers of Manchester will never be forgotten and we will always remember tham for generation to come after, and even in another 50 years there will still be Man Utd fans honouring and paying tribute to the greatest human tragedy in the history of football.

R.i.P!

I just want to say thanks to the club for a great day of memorial for a somber occasion.

Thanks to the Babes for the history of the club, without them we may not have been the club we are today. RIP.
