No reason why we shouldn't play a strong side in this with only Blackburn sandwiched between this and the away leg. Would be ideal to close the tie before the away leg really.

we can use Carrick on this match and we really need to kill the tie. Start Martial again if possible.

I would keep the 3 M's together and maybe play Rashford in front of them.

we have to play the strongest team and try to get to CL by winning Europa league. In PL we're still the underdogs for the 4th spot due to fixture congestion and the fact that we have by far the toughest last games of the season. In the FA cup game on the weekend we can/should completely change the lineup

We should play our best team so that we can take advantage of the aggregate score when the 2nd leg comes.

With the cup final coming up a healthy lead is essential - if we get 3 in front we could afford to rest all our shirt sellers Zlatan, Pogba etc

It's vital we don't concede, can see a 2-0 victory. Would be even better if we can get more than two, this team ain't good at all.

I've watched a few of their games this season and have been impressed. They play nice football and have only conceded 19 goals in the league so far.
I would say they are about the same level as us in Europe so I'm expecting a close game.
It is vital we don't concede a goal at home.

Haven't able to watch their games but if that's the case, then our guys have to be alert. You're right that we shouldn't concede a goal because it may hurt us on the 2nd leg. (so) (so) (so)

Saint-Étienne drew 1-1 with FSV Mainz 05, beat Gabala SC 1-2 and then RSC Anderlecht 2-3 in the away matches in the group stage, so they'll be no mugs, but if we start fast and get at them early and hopefully get ahead we should have far too much for them.

De Gea

Valencia
Bailly *
Smalling
Blind

Herrera *
Pogba

Lingard
Mkhitaryan
Martial

Ibrahimovic

* miss the 2nd leg if booked

I would play the same time that started v Watford

-Change it up for Blackburn
- Change again to get the job done from Saint-Etienne - 2nd leg

Play strongest 11 in the cup final

Simples ;)

MickyT not even on the bench and Fellainni starting. It will be interesting what is the predominant formation.

Very shaky defending so far. I blame this on Fellaini who is all over the place, no positioning sense whatsoever. He's leaving big holes in midfield

excellent result :)

once Fellaini was replaced our midfield was much more compact and they could hardly create anything

Martial passed the auditon in front of Jose with flying colors :)

The ref was really trigger happy. We got some very match defining calls in our favour.

I think we were brilliant in the second half and Martial in this mood is brilliant to watch. Credit to Jose because he's got a lot of players responding.
It's almost like he sensed a softness in a few of the players and was determined to shock them out of that.

Great result which should see us through to the next round - we were brilliant in spells and woeful in spells.

Good to see Zlatan get his hat trick - not the most vintage hattie to get but that's 23 for the season now.

That 2nd half shows what happens when you put pace into the front line - Saint Etienne couldn't deal with us.

Ref was very poor all night - both 'fouls' on Zlatan were as soft as you get - blew up for everything on the night.

All in all a good result - goals scored, clean sheet and another win
