Now's the time to see where we are

As we move to the back end of the season we are about to find out what we are actually about

Where do you think this club is?

I get a load of abuse for insisting that shirt selling is the most important thing to this club
Significantly,in my opinion, more important than trophy winning

Many of you believe that we have already won two important trophies in the Charity Shield and the League cup
That just shows me how how low you have allowed your standards to become and how we have become so much like Liverpool where every tiny success is grasped at

So where do i see the team
I see an ageing team at a decision balance
The manager can no longer be blamed as Jose has shown himself to be the right man
Moyes was a cheap option and van Gaal was nothing more than an International style manager who,as he was moving towards retirement would not need much of a financial commitment from the board
I think the current squad is very very thin
I don't see Pogba or Zlatan as long term top quality
I see Zlatan as a short term shirt seller and Pogba has shown sod all so far
Many of you defend him but he has to do it himself for me
That won't stop the Chinese buying his shirts however so i have to get used to him no matter what
Zlatan will be gone sooner rather than later and it may even happen in about 10 weeks

Rooney and Carrick are almost at the end as is Schweinsteiger so there's 3 that need replacing
That's on top of Schneiderlin and Depay who were not replaced
I cannot understand one iota the loyalty being shown to Shaw who the manager says he will stick buy
The lad has not had one good half never mind one good game
It's like watching Fabio who i saw play against City yesterday
Many of you stuck by him for a long long time and now he is a piece of shit playing for a team as good as relegated
And his brother ,Rafael is in a team challenging for nothing in France

I note the moans about the number of games being needed to play but i don't remember hearing any moans when we won the treble
3 major trophies as well not shit

So if you watched the Champions league in the week you will see how far we are away from Barcelona,Real Madrid and the Germans
Do you really want this club with this personnel to play in that tournament
We are trying to scramble past a third rate Russian team who play amateur standard foot ball on a beach quality pitch

The FA cup is looking stupidly hard to win
To win that we have to almost certainly beat 3 premiership teams
If we beat Chelsea, and you can't be confident we then have to beat two of City,Arsenal or probably Spurs. All teams that are ahead of us in the league
On the assumption we don't win the FA Cup(i personally fancy Chelsea for a genuine double) then we have the league
There has been some serious todger bashing over the season but the reality is that we are no better,in terms of position, than we were last year
Frighteningly a top 4 finish would be deemed a great success
Where has your ambition gone
But even that is a long log way off isn't it.
With three quarters of the season gone we have yet to play at Manchester City,Spurs and Arsenal as well as facing Chelsea at our place
We have to win against the first 3 and still hope they slip up somewhere else to get in the top 4
I just don't see it happening. But it might
Would that make a good season?
Well we have sponsorship up,shirt sales up and wages down so it looks good
Bad news was that we didn't break into the Indian market and Armenians don't have spare cash either so we have to do some serious thinking about where to next

So what's your thoughts if indeed you have any

My thoughts...........

If we had beaten Watford, Stoke, Burnley, West Ham, Hull and Bournemouth then we would be in second place on 62 points............

All were winnable games!
Life is like a pubic hair on a toilet seat.......sometimes you get pissed off!

That's what football is all about

If every team played exactly to its qualities and won every game it should have then Chelsea would still be top
City would be second
And then there wouldn't be much between Liverpool,Spurs,Arsenal and us
With the resources and profits we have available we should be challenging the top 2 and not be in the pack

Also the youth development scheme should be much closer to Chelsea and City rather than a long long way behind
We are ahead in one department only and that is the payment of dividends department

Please tell me who Chelsea and city have brought through the youth team and played in the first team and how they are any better than the youth products we have had in the last couple of years

Chelsea have been building a youth squad up for about 5 years now
They currently have over 50 youth players playing in the top leagues around Europe getting ready to have decisions made on their future
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/201 ... ith-brigh/
They have won the Youth Cup for the last 3 years. That was something the Busby babes and the Class of 92 did

As for City they are also well advanced in development
They have the best training facilities in the league
Watch these names
http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/ ... s-11558166

As for United
Well we have an "interim" coach in Nicky Butt and the kids get dicked on a regular basis
They have only this season woken up and are possibly getting their act together
About 5 years to catch up.Maybe more
There is very very little on show with the kids

That's all very nice ray but which youth products have Chelsea and city played in their team in the last few years? You kind of danced around the question.

Dont have much else to add to what Ray said.

Given that we are now the only team in the top 6 who are playing in Europe, its only going to hurt our chances of finishing in the top four. Add to that we now have Ibra, Herrera and possibly Pogba out for the next couple of PL games, so its only added to our problems.

Personally, I hink we should focus on Europa and go win it. I don't think there's a single remaining team that we cannot beat. It might be ugly or a struggle like it was against Rostov (more ugly than struggle) but I'll take it. Mourinho has the know how of this competition (from his Porto days) so think he can get the team selections right depending on the oppositions, as well as stay afloat in the top four race. If, at any point, we start to fall behind in the top four race, thats when we focus even more on Europa.

Sad state of affair when you look at Madrid, Barca and Bayern, but its the reality. A matter of encouragement is that we have the right man for the job and he is building the team in a nice way and getting us that good feeling back in terms of the way we play. He's made the right purchases so far and think there's more of it to come this summer, quite possibly.
“Bill, how would you like to be manager of the best team in the country?”
And Shankly said: “Why? Is Matt Busby packing it in?”

I just realised that i missed your reply
Sorry

Does this help

or this
http://www.stokesentinel.co.uk/man-city ... story.html

Chelsea have over 50 players out on loan playing and developing in top European leagues

These are the lads now ready to break in who are already in the Chelsea first team squad
Quite frighening really as they have another 50 plus out and of whom many are almost ready to break in and add to the Premier League's champions squad who have proven they are 6-10 games better than Manchester United
And i can't see a potential shirt seller amongst them
