Been contemplating shaving my head and keeping the beard, not sure it would suit me though.

I trim it every now and then to get it in shape. Would be much longer if I didn't bother. But not as much as Ste's

Does anyone actually think mine looks good? I get the odd comment by strangers telling me how good it looks and how they wish they could grow a beard like mine, yet my mates take the piss quite a bit. I take it on the chin as its obvs bantz but recently i think it looks a tad overgrown and a bit shit. Im also a bit fed up of strangers wanting to have a beard conversation because of it. Its hardly a passion. I only grew it cos a cat knocked my clippers off a table and broke them so I couldnt trim it short

Your friends will take the piss even if you look like Brad Pitt after you shave it off, that's what friends are for. I get the odd remark here and there that makes me feel sad for some idiots, like whether I'm growing it to take part in a Good Friday pageant. I think it looks good, maybe apply a bit of wax to it to stop the rogue hair and it would allow you to shape it as you like. I only use it when I want to look smart though, not every day use.

Does the hair around your mouth not drive you nuts? I trim my mustache often, can't stand the hairs curling over and rubbing on my lips.

Here's me, not too long ago. I shaved it off last night though. I had been thinking about it for a couple weeks and had trying to build up the nerve. I still can't decide if I regret my decision though, that was about 6 months growth. It got really uncomfortable and as it was getting longer it became more of a talking point when I would run into people. And the fact that beards are a huge trend right now is annoying, because I am not a trendy guy, I have had a beard for most of the last 12 years but I hate people thinking I am some sort of hipster.

Mine is red too, or should I rather say was red, as it started turning grey. I didn't touch it for five yrs or so but as I started losing more and more hairs I trimmed it twice in the last year. Unfortunately without any positive change. Do you treat yours in any way e.g. shampoos, lotions and other cosmetics?

You look a bit like Mark Ruffalo here.

Is that slight parting right in the middle of your chin intentional?

No, happens every time I grow out my beard.

I've always been a big fan of Mark Ruffalo, and I could never really explain why. Maybe its because he reminds me of myself.

@Relly yeah it does I tend to trim it every week or so but it grows very quickly. You look better with a beard that length than you do in the picture thread imo. Looks good.

@Matt Im yet to find a hood beard styling wax that works well. What do you use?

@Subxero I use beard soap and also a conditioner. It worked for a bit but I think I used too much the other week and it dried my skin out and made it flaky and itchy so Ive had to cut down and just wash it a bit. Luckily I had two days off when it was bad. I looked like I had serious beard dandruff.

@Mikey. Its not hard you tit xx

Don't tell me that, I am really regretting my decision to shave it off already.

Thoughts? Been thinking about it, but not sure how the beard would look. I'm only holding on to my hair to keep the balance at the moment.
