Star Wars

Sun Dec 27, 2015 3:06 pm

Has anyone seen it yet? I saw it Christmas day and absolutely loved it. It's much more dark and violent than the previous set, in a good way.

I don't want to mention any details until people have said they saw it.

I enjoyed it, although I thought that the characters could've been developed a bit better.

Throws open lots of new questions for us to think about for till 2017.

Well it was certainly better than the prequel trilogy. There were a lot of questions left unanswered which is good for a film like this but kind of frustrating too. It felt like an adventure film, like the originals did which was welcome for me.

It was amazing

And light of stars was in her hair
And in her raiment glimmering...

Good to see you again Lea. I suggest BB-8 for your next costume.

From the new trilogy, who is your favorite character? Did any of you tried to follow the expanded universe comics? Most of the characters are different but they have something in common. Eg. Ben Skywalker in EU is Ben Solo in TFA.

Honestly of the new characters Poe was my personal favorite. Rey was cool but she seemed like she was written to pander to the political correctness crowd that would say we need a girl to be a hero. I have no problem with a female being a hero but she was written as being stronger with the force than Kylo Ren was, despite the fact he had been training for years. Also the fact Rey wasn't even hurt after being pushed into a tree and falling 30 feet to the ground was most annoying. Finn was too much the "Knight in shining armor".
There have been rumors about Finn and Poe introducing a gay relationship into the series. I don't oppose gay marriage but if they bring it into Star Wars it just seems like it would be nothing more than a move pandering to the PC crowd. Maybe there'll be a love triangle where where Finn has to decide between Poe and Rey and he falls for both of them at different points in time. At least that would be original.
