we were lucky but i'll take it. tiredness and poor team selection almost cost us but we showed heart :) Ibra is simply amazing
I think tiredness was the main problem based on our games over the last couple of weeks. Glad that there's no midweek matches this week.

Jose looks even parts pissed off and bored :)

Sometimes we will with panache and flair and style and total dominance.
Other times we win with guts and determination and never say die.

This was a time when we just refused to lose.

Job well done lads.

Southampton played very well, they have found another good striker.

Ibra...wow....I was one of those that thought he was a bit overrated before this season but at 35 and to be on track for 30+ goals this season is just phenomenal.

Hopefully this is just the start of the journey for Jose and his boys.

Wasn't a big fan of Rooney lifting the trophy, we've taken the Mick out of John Terry doing the same thing. I would rather Carrick or whoever was captain in the first half lifted it.

Nice to not have a midweek game so hopefully the players can have a few days off before we restart with the assault on the top 4, Europa League and FA cup.

Another nerve shredder from the red shirted heroes but you are spot-on Barry.
Credit to the Saints but the advantage of their two week winter break really showed. If it had gone to extra time who knows what might have happened.

But another major in the trophy room and that is all the matters.

We didnt deserve to win and most of the team were well below par today (Ibra being the massive exception) but when you look back in the record books it will show - 2017 EFL Cup Winners - Manchester United

Rooney has played his part in getting us to the final and is our official captain - no issues for the Legend lifting the cup

League Cup Winners - Get in there!

It was far from pretty but as mentioned above we refused to lose.

Southampton played really well - you could tell they had 2 weeks to prepare - how we were 2-0 up after 40mins ill never know - The goal on the stroke of half time was a killer - you felt going in at 2-0 would have hurt Southampton badly.

Zlatan - what a man this guy is..........has there been a better free transfer? literally dragged us through that game - a fantastic free-kick and a great winner - lovely cross from Herrera.

Give me 11 shirt sellers any day of the week.

Get in!

My did we get battered, but that's what world class gets you. And we haven't had a world class senior player in attack for years and years.

By the way, that Gabiadinni fellow is worth keeping an eye on. What a player!

Cracking game, southampton played really well.

You can tell some of our players seemed really tired, and im thankful it didn't go to extra time
