Of course a player can be sold against his will
The club only have a contract to pay him the agreed salary
As long as they pay that off they can make his life so miserable that he would not want to stay no matter what he felt about the club
That effectively forces him out

Honestly. I really have now idea who'd be a caption. Herrera has shown a glimpse of captaincy under some major matches. But I'd really like to see a Defender captain. Who can push the team forward. Vidic type of player but unfortunately we don't have any player like him.

I am not as ambivalent as some about Rooney staying and collecting his £300K a week. Both Moyes and Woodward thought they where getting the best of the deal and just because they bought a pig in a poke doesn't mean that Rooney should bail their arses out.
I can't believe it. I can't believe it. Football. Bloody hell.
