Not sure if we'll need Fellaini and Matic in the midfield - let Matic sit and Pogba roam.

Id put Mata in the front line - expect Stoke to camp on their 18 yard line

Reading some posts you would think we are 6th. Not 2nd
Whistling while walking by the graveyard. The posts I read every where are pretty much the same way, everyone is trying to keep expectation low when in reality we should be hammering Stoke. I hope the "week in the sun" has everyone energized, healthy and raring to add to Stokes worries because this is a game we need to win to keep Chelsea and LFC by bay.

Stoke been the better side since we scored...(story of our season?). Had 4 very presentable chances, but this is Stoke so its still 1-0!

HT 2-0

Weird half. Great strikes by Tony V and Tony M at each end of the half. Inbetween time we've had some nice play...Pogba running the show. But defeinsively we've been awful.. esp Smalling and Matic. Stoke have had at least 5 decent/great chances to score. At least its entertaining though :)

3-0 Lukaku with an excellent goal. Goals have been quality tonight, albeit we missed a few easier chances. Pogba has been magnificent!

Ft 3-0

Pogba sensational

Martial, Mata, Lukaku DDG excellent

Matic, Smalling poor

Couldve been 8-0, could've been 4-4 ..funny old game really. 3 pts and a confidence boosting performance though.

Good professional performance, players looked good in some tough weather conditions.

I honestly dont understand how anyone could watch that game and leave Pogba out of their best 11. Hes the best player in the league, and one of the best on the planet

I see us winning this one big

Great game that, really enjoyed it.

Pogba is unreal. Nice to see Shaw back, and a run out from McTominay

I thought we were playing Stoke, was it Barca in disguise ?

Ok we were good going forward, and on the counter, but better teams would have punished us for defensive errors, Smalling has to go.

I think we are asking Matic to perform too many roles. Even when he plays in front of the back line he is still being asked to perform the deep play maker role, he is being asked to bring the ball through the middle of the pitch and I think it is more than he is capable of doing.

I couldn't believe Vanlencia scored with the left.. He always looked so awkward and clumsy when the ball fell to his left foot. Usually he'd take and extra touch a turn and try to use the outside of his right foot to pass or shoot the ball. This was a beautiful strike that any left footed striker would be jealous of. My only logical explanation is that he's been practicing using his left foot late in his career which I applaud him for.
Speaking of goals All three of them were great goals. The second one by Martial was a sweet curve placed perfectly. Lukaku kept his cool to find space and execute a RVN like devastating close range shot.
The goals and some of the attacking moves were very enjoyable to watch, but as some have already mentioned above, we lacked stability in defence and allowed Sokelona way too much space and time and it could have complicated things if one of those clear chances had gone in.

BTW (and I'll mention this in the transfer section) I really like Shaqiri. I think he's wasted in this team. He deserves to be in a better team and honestly I think United should buy him. He'd do really really well here with all the other creative players around him.

I like to watch Shaqiri play as he's an exciting talented player..but he's lazy. Dosent track back ergo, no chance of Jose signing him!

This does appear to be a litmus test as far as Mourinho is concerned.

I think that Sanchez will press from the front especially after a turnover, I have seen him track back - but it's not his strong suit.
