Joe Hart

Fri Aug 03, 2018 6:33 pm

Rumoured to sign for Burnley over the weekend.

I really don't get this. Makes no sense for either party. They'll have FIVE first-team goalkeepers and Nick Pope, Tom Heaton and Lindegaard are all ahead of Hart and Adam Legzdins.

Nick Pope is rumoured to be out for the season, or at least most of it. Tom Heaton though should be back relatively soon. Best guess is it's to help in training.

See what Joe did there? Don't do that.

Yes gaffer.

Wow ... From a personal/human point of view, I do feel for the guy. It's a spectacular fall from grace.

Whilst he did enjoy a long run as undisputed number one for City and England, he was always the weak point. I was consistently surprised City didn't replace him.

I think the acquisition of hart make it five GK's for Burnley and that's a lot of player for one position. I think I remember reading that Pope was carrying an injury but that's still a lot of players.

One way to look at it, you could also say he had career that far exceeded his talent and he was quite lucky.

I totally agree that Hart was a product of being in the right place at the right time, being English didn't hurt any either.

They had Shmeichel on their books when Hart took over. Was a blunder then and a blunder now
