Samuel L Jackson is the world's most pointless actor, unless you need a bloke to play the role of Samuel L Jackson. No film needs Samuel L Jackson basically playing himself for the 48th time.

Every film needs it.

Imagine Frozen with Sam Jackson in. Yeah, amazing isn't it?

No. We're not doing this. Stop it now.

Just talk about something else. Anything, I don't care.

I liked Frozen. Samuel L Jackson would have ruined it.

Actually, SLJ is a pretty good actor and his performance in Django Unchained was was both excellent and underrated. It's a shame his character didn't have more of a story. Would've preferred that to the bloated and terrible ending to the film.

I just wish the summer schedule was over so we can get to the good films (apart from Mr. Holmes which looks to be a goodun).

Anyone seen the trailer for Macbeth? I am really looking forward to this movie. I just hope it isn't a case of the trailer being better than the movie.

Im not a big film person and this is more of a docufilm kind of thing but i watched 'Anne Frank: The Whole Story' recently. Can't fault it, everything was exceptional.

10/10 for me.

What do you lot use to keep up to date with films? IMDB?

I don't think I've seen a new film since Slumdog Millionaire in 2009. Anyone got any suggestions for must watch films? I know there's good ones out there just dunno where to start. Apparently this was the best film last year - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boyhood_(film" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)

My favourite is A Clockwork Orange btw.

Probably just look for a list of 100 greatest films of all time and work my way through.

Cheers, definitely going to give some of these a go. I want to watch the LOTR ones, but not before having read the books, and I'm done with The Hobbit and on the first book of the LOTR now.

Disney announce that they'll produce a Star Wars spinoff telling the history of Han Solo, due to be released in 2018.

Also there's going to be a stand alone Star Wars film called Rogue One, out next year. Didn't know about this one.

I'm hoping these Disney produced incarnations will be quite good. I'll be gutted if they're on the same level as 1-3.

From what I've seen in the trailers and read online, I have high hopes for Force Awakens, so will be massively disappointed if it doesn't match up. Not so sure about Rogue One, which is the story of the many Bothan spies who died to bring the information about the Death Star to the rebellion, but the Han Solo film could be very good.

Me too, Ash. I like JJ Abrahams very much so I believe Force Awakens could be better than the originals. Abrahams is a better storyteller than George Lucas.
