What has Conte been doing with the last few league games - mind games? Give us a false sense of security?

Official line -up (sort of)

DDG
Valencia
Smalling
Jones
Young

Matic
Herrera
Pogba

Lingard
Sanchez
Lukaku

(Be amazed if Mourinho dosent pick this line-up -barring injuries of course)

I just hope we do not need a Fellaini late goal for the win.

I'm beginning to think I don't understand the laws of the game, a player commits 3 bad tackles, and doesn't get a yellow, a differernt player commits one bad tackle and gets a yellow.

I always thouught that a player was played onside if the ball was last played by a defender, it appears that doesn't count when the defender is a goalkeeper.

José claimed in the post match interview that United were the better team, my answer to that is you can't tun up for one half and expect to win.

I have nver lied us playing the wing back system, we got exposed on both sides today, especially the right.

Why Jones and Smalling over Bailly ?

Something has ot change drastically over the summer, eiher the players or the coaching staff.

Yet another game that proves that we cannot play with a slow buildup from the back, dither around in midfield and then breakdown an organized defense. Totally wrong setup and strategy in the first half, but once the lad where allowed to run the entire situation change. We cannot depend on WB for width and crosses and someone needs to put an electric collar on Sanchez and if he attempt to come inside shock the living daylights out of him.

Mourinho need to have confidence in his layers and play to their strengths.

A typically disappointing game that was all too familiar this season.

Big changes needed at the top and the bottom but i'm not sure where we start.
Is it all down to the players or is Jose largely responsible.

For some reason once very good players are becoming very average.
Rashford,Martial,Sanchez and Pogba to an extent seem almost disinterested at times.

WTF is going on here. :?

Mourinho is making me fall out of love with United and I hate it!

I don't like his tactics, I don't like is team selection, and even some of his purchases to me are open to question.

I also don't like how he leaves players out in the cold for weeks, then expects them to perform at the drop of a hat.

This season has been a eal first for me, there have been games when I have walked away to watch something more boring instead.

Mourinho's tactics would be a lot more palatable if they worked, but with the personnel he has available to him we cannot expect the defense to be perfect game every time out. Sitting back and giving the opposition the opportunity to hammer on our goal is just asking for a last minute goal and then we have dropped more points. Even with the best defensive pairing that United has had this approach would not work in todays football.

The squad is full of players who want to get the ball moving through the midfield and get the attack setup quickly, they are not suited to giving the opposition's defense time to setup and hoping for a stroke of genius or a perfect cross from the wings. Teams in the premier league know our weaknesses and have learned that we cannot breakdown an organized defense. Mourinho also needs to learn this.

I missed most of the game, as I had a splintering headache and could barely look at the screen, though I did manage to glance up as we gave the penalty away.

I gather we had lots of forward play that amounted to absolutely nothing, which has been our problem all season. How can we have so many great attacking players but have an attack that is so blunt? Something needs to change.

George Best would have been 72 years old today..he wouldn't have lasted 10 minutes under the current manager

This loss was squarely on Mourinho. Playing the clown car in defense while freezing out our only defender that isn't a walking poster boy for the make a wish foundation

Refusing to attack this shower of shite Chelsea side. Trying to play crossing tactics with 2 has been wingers at full back when lukaku was injured and we had rashford one

And then miss your fornicate chances

you get what you deserve, and in the end the cup final win wasn't able to mask our pathetic season
